Bronze Hunt

• This hunt is for bucks up to 115 gross B&C.
• 3 full days 1x1 guided
• 3 full nights lodging and meals included
• $2500 with no trophy fee for first buck taken.

Silver Hunt

• This hunt is for bucks 116-135 gross B&C.
• 3 full days 1x1 guided
• 3 full nights lodging and meals included
• $2500 with $500 trophy fee for 120- 135 gross.

Gold Hunt

• This hunt is for bucks 136-160 gross B&C.
• 3 full days 1x1 guided
• 3 full nights lodging and meals included
• $2500 with $500 trophy fee plus $200 per inch for bucks > 135 gross B&C, up to 160 gross B&C.

Platinum Hunt

• This hunt is for bucks > 160 gross B&C.
• 5 full days 1x1 guided
• 5 full nights lodging and meals included
• $2500 with $500 trophy fee plus $200 per inch for bucks > 136 gross B&C.

All hunts - $2500 to hunt. Game available - hogs, javelina, coyotes, and does. This also includes excellent meals, lodging, guide, skinning, caping, and quartering of all game taken.

Kill Fees

Wounding Policy

If a deer is shot at and wounded (i.e. blood, hair, meat or bone is found), it is the responsibility of the hunter to pay the appropriate kill fees. All hunts are video taped and the gross score of the animal will be estimated from video by Rancho Encantado representatives. Every effort will be made to locate wounded game. If the buck is found at a later date, the antlers will be gross scored and the kill fee will be adjusted to the actual score. The antlers will then be sent to the hunter.

Opportunity Fee

If a deer is shot at and determined by Rancho Encantado representatives as having been missed, you will be charged an opportunity fee of $500 if the deer is Silver Medal or less (< 135 gross) or $1,000 if the buck is Gold or Platinum level (136+ gross). If a buck is taken later in the hunt, this opportunity fee will be applied to the kill fees of the buck taken.

Weapons Policy

All hunters will be required to shoot either their rifles or bows under the supervision of Rancho Encantado representatives before being allowed to hunt. We have excellent rifle and bow ranges on the ranch. If your rifle or bow is not functioning properly, you will not be allowed to hunt with them. Practice with your weapon before arriving to insure proper function and accuracy.

Pricing Comparison

Many hunting outfitters charge either a single rate for their hunts or a variable rate based on when the hunt takes place. For example, the Sanctuary Ranch in Michigan, is an example of the variable rate system based on the time of the hunt. The Sanctuary's 2001 advertised prices for a "Trophy Hunt" is based on the dates you select to hunt and runs between $8,000 - $14,500. The cost of these hunts do not take into account the size of the buck taken. You could get lucky and take a monster during one of the less preferred dates or get unlucky and take a smaller buck on one of the higher priced hunts.

The cost of hunting on Rancho Encantado is based on the gross B&C score of the buck taken, not on the date that you hunt. We have a $2,500 base fee and the trophy fee's; no charge for a buck up to 115 gross (Bronze Hunt), $500 for a buck 116-135 gross (Silver Hunt), and $500 + $200 / inch for a buck > 135 gross (Gold Hunt 136-160 gross, and Platinum Hunt > 160 gross).
